Karamu House seeks a full-time Technical Director to coordinate overall production and technical requirements for events in three theatres (Jelliffe 200-seat, Arena 80-seat, Concert Hall 60-seat) and other special event venues.

• ·Operate and maintain lighting, sound, and communications equipment
• ·Supervise set and stage construction
• ·Create weekly crew schedules
• ·Interpret designers' work and distribute construction drafting
• ·Orient facility renters to safety and technical characteristics
• ·Attend all design, production, and tech week rehearsals

• ·Minimum bachelor's degree in technical theatre required
• ·2–5 years experience as a Technical Director required
• ·Experience with AutoCAD, rigging, carpentry, and budgeting preferred
